Wampum Fuels is all about offering high-quality products from our community to your family. We offer gas grades of 87, 89, and 91 as well as clear Diesel. The convenience store on the premises is not the only business we support, either. In addition to the native brands we carry and common favorites offered at competitive prices, our sister company also provides discounted auto parts and tires to those in need. From Kennedy's Corner Store to Wampum Fuels, D.A.D.S., and Jesken Graphics, we are a one-stop shop for several services you would otherwise have to shop around for. Have them at your fingertips all in one location.
Kennedy's Corner Store has been in our family since the Oneida people first migrated here from the Oneida New York area in 1840. This is a generational business that has helped support our family as well as our community for many years.
This area, when our family first created it, had a family farm that my great-grandfather owned. It was eventually handed down to my father to oversee. In the early 1970s, my father built his home on the property where he would go on to raise two boys, who later become Union Ironworkers, and a girl.
In this very spot, my father would also build a garage where he fixed cars and helped with tires. He would pursue this sort of entrepreneurship as a side business when work was slow as he was also a tradesman in the Ironworkers Local 700 based out of Windsor.
In recent years, Jesse was given the opportunity to purchase and take over the existing business which is known as Bev's Auto Repair.
Within the past decade, we have expanded Wampum Fuels to 13 pump stations, added a convenience store, support an auto parts store, and welcomed in a custom sign shop. Due to our First Nations Treaty Rights, we have been able to offer discounted prices on most items which passes on sometimes significant cost savings to all of our customers.
It is our goal at Wampum Fuels to be the example of what can happen when you purpose First Nations individuals and entrepreneurs in a viable business opportunity, sustaining the companies on our premises for several years with hard work and quality goods.
Through Wampum Fuels, we have a pathway to create long-term businesses based around the day-to-day operations of retail fuel and convenience store goods. In that, we have had the fortune of working with some of the best and brightest of our community, providing them an opportunity to earn a living, pursue their dreams, and learn about how to run a business.
A large portion of our success comes from focusing on selling high-quality goods and at fair, reasonable prices. There is a strong focus on enriching the lives of the families and individuals who rely on us for their essentials, from auto parts and tires to gas for travel, snacks for the family, and more.
As we have gone through defining and redefining our business model, we have always sought to divert a large portion of our revenues back into the First Nations communities, to help develop the area, support families in need, and foster sustainable relationships based in equity, respect, and care.
Wampum Fuels continues to work hard to support local First Nations initiatives and to strengthen the local economy.
